Internships with WCCN
2012 Internship Opportunities with Working Capital for Community Needs (WCCN) WCCN interns work in a productive capacity while furthering knowledge and skills in the field of international development. Internships are uncompensated and require onsite commitment. Internship terms are offered Spring, Summer and Fall.
Summer 2012: May through August, applications due May 10th. Early application is appreciated. Time commitment: 10 – 15 hours per week
Internship Positions Currently Available:
Loan Fund Operations Associate (One position available) The Fund Associate facilitates decision making for the microfinance loan fund. Responsibilities of the may include research and evaluation of partner microfinance institutions using quantitative analysis, data management, or financial modeling and forecasting. Undergraduate and graduate students in Economics, Finance, Business, Public Policy, Mathematics, Computer Science, International Relations, Latin American Studies, and related fields are encouraged to apply.
Portfolio Associate (One position available): The Portfolio associate will be dedicated to optimizing tools for portfolio performance, establishing performance targets, analyzing economic sectors and informing on risk and social impact of partner agencies. Experience in Excel, statistical programs, or database applications (particularly Filemaker) preferrerd. Undergraduate and graduate students in Economics, Finance, Business, Public Policy, Mathematics, Computer Science, International Relations, Latin American Studies, and related fields are encouraged to apply.
Marketing Associate (One position available) The Marketing Associate promotes WCCN and its projects by creating and editing promotional materials, facilitating awareness raising initiatives, and assisting in the coordination of events and outreach. The Marketing Associate may also collaborate in grant research and writing for WCCN's microfinance, housing and women's empowerment initiatives. Students in Communications, Marketing, Spanish, English, Journalism, Public Policy, Gender and Women's Studies, Graphic Design, and Public Relations are encouraged to apply.
Research Associate (One position available) Students with a particular focus on one of WCCN programmatic areas have the opportunity to research and report on a specific topic.
